HelperTea is a hobby site run by one person. It is not a company, it sells nothing, and it has no interest in who you are. This page describes what actually happens when you visit, in plain English.
The short version
Reading this site is anonymous as far as we are concerned. We set no cookies. We run no analytics. We serve no advertising. We have no email list, no signup form, no accounts, and no way to contact you unless you contact us first. We are not building a profile of you, and there is nothing for us to sell, share, or lose in a breach, because we hold nothing.
What we do not collect
- No cookies. This site does not set a single cookie. Nothing is written to your browser's local storage or session storage. That is why there is no cookie banner: there would be nothing to consent to.
- No analytics. There is no Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Plausible, Fathom, or any other measurement tool. We genuinely do not know how many people read this site, or which pages they read.
- No advertising or trackers. No ad networks, no retargeting pixels, no social media embeds, no comment system, no fingerprinting.
- No email collection. There is no newsletter and no signup form anywhere on this site.
- No accounts. There is nothing to log into.
No third-party requests
This matters more than most privacy policies admit. Plenty of sites promise to respect your privacy while their pages quietly ask your browser to fetch fonts from Google, photos from an image CDN, or scripts from an ad network. Every one of those requests hands your IP address and browser details to a company you never chose to visit.
HelperTea does none of that. Every font, image, stylesheet, and script is served from helpertea.com itself. When you load a page here, your browser talks to exactly one server: ours.
The one exception: server logs
This site is hosted on Netlify. Like every web host, Netlify's servers process the standard information your browser sends with each request: your IP address, the page you asked for, your browser's user agent, and the time. This is simply how the web works. A server cannot send you a page without knowing where to send it.
Netlify handles that data as our hosting provider, under its own privacy policy. We do not read those logs, we do not export them, and we do not analyze them. If you want to limit what any website's host can see, a VPN or a privacy-focused browser is the practical tool, not a policy page.
If you email us
If you write to hello@helpertea.com, we will of course have your email address and whatever you put in the message. We use it to reply and to fix whatever you told us about, and for nothing else. We never sell it, never add it to a list, and never share it. If you would like your message deleted once we have dealt with it, say so and we will delete it.
Please do not send us personal medical information. We are not clinicians, we cannot advise you, and there is no reason for us to hold your health details.
Links to other websites
Our pages link out to studies on PubMed, to journal articles through DOI links, and to photo credits on Wikimedia Commons. Those are ordinary links you have to click. Nothing loads from those sites unless you choose to go there, and once you do, you are on their site under their privacy policy, not ours.
Children
This site is written for adults and is not directed at children. Since we collect no information from anyone, we collect none from children either. Health decisions for a child should involve a pediatrician, not a tea directory.
Your rights
Data protection laws, including the GDPR in Europe and the UK and the CCPA in California, give you the right to know what personal data an organization holds about you, to obtain a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it is used.
You are welcome to exercise any of those rights by emailing hello@helpertea.com. We should be honest about the answer you will get: unless you have previously emailed us, we hold no personal data about you at all, so there is nothing to disclose, correct, delete, or object to. If you have emailed us, we will send you a copy of that correspondence, or delete it, whichever you ask for. There is no form, no verification hoop, and no charge.
We describe these rights because you have them. We are not claiming a certification of compliance.
Who runs this site
HelperTea is run by an individual, not a registered company, so there is no corporate entity, business address, or data protection officer to name. The way to reach a human is hello@helpertea.com.
Changes to this policy
If this site ever starts collecting anything, whether analytics, an email list, or anything else, this page will be rewritten to say so before that happens, and the date below will change. We would rather publish an awkward, accurate policy than a reassuring, false one. If something on this page does not match how the site actually behaves, that is a bug: please tell us and we will fix it.
