Terms of Use

The plain-English version, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.

The agreement

By using helpertea.com you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site. That is the whole of the bargain; nothing here signs you up to anything else.

The content is information, not advice

Everything on HelperTea is published for general information and education. It is not medical, pharmaceutical, nutritional, or professional advice of any kind, and it is not written or reviewed by a licensed healthcare professional. Reading it creates no professional relationship. Our medical disclaimer forms part of these terms. Please read it.

No warranty of accuracy

We work hard to be accurate, to cite our sources, and to label the strength of the evidence honestly. We still cannot promise that this site is correct, complete, or current. Research moves. Links rot. One person reading a paper can misread it.

The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free access.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HelperTea and its operator are not liable for any loss, injury, illness, or damage — direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential — arising from your use of this site or from any reliance you place on its health content.

Decisions about your health, and about what you put into your body, are yours, and are best made with a qualified clinician who knows your history. Some jurisdictions do not permit certain limitations of liability; where that is so, these limitations apply to the maximum extent the law allows.

Acceptable use

You may read, print, quote, and link to anything here. Please do not:

  • republish substantial portions of our text as your own work;
  • scrape the site in a way that degrades it for other people;
  • probe, breach, or otherwise interfere with the site;
  • use our content to support health claims about a product you are selling; or
  • represent this site, anywhere, as medically reviewed. It is not.

Who owns what

The original text, the evidence ratings, and the editorial framework on HelperTea belong to its operator and are protected by copyright. Short quotations with a clear link back are welcome and need no permission from us.

Photographs and illustrations are generally used under Creative Commons or public-domain licenses. The photographer and the specific license are credited beside each image, and we claim no ownership of them; your reuse of those images is governed by their own licenses, not by ours. If you hold rights in an image and believe we have credited or licensed it incorrectly, email us and we will correct or remove it promptly.

Study titles, abstracts, and metadata belong to their publishers and authors. We cite and link to them; we do not reproduce them.

Links to other sites

We link out to PubMed, NCCIH, MedlinePlus, LiverTox, and other resources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, or privacy practices.

These terms may change

We may revise these terms as the site changes. The current version always lives at this address, and continuing to use the site after a revision means you accept it. Substantive changes will be described here rather than slipped in.

Contact

Questions about these terms, or about anything else: hello@helpertea.com.

Last reviewed and updated . HelperTea is written by an enthusiast, not a clinician, and is not medically reviewed. How we research and rate evidence. Found an error? Tell us — safety corrections get priority.

Spotted something wrong?

This site is written by one person and cites its sources so you can check the work. If a claim looks overstated, a citation does not support what it is attached to, or a safety warning is missing, please say so.
